Where to find the paint code on a British Standard

Most manufacturers put the paint code on a plate or sticker on the driver's side door jamb, on the door pillar, under the bonnet, or in the boot area, and often repeat it in the service book. The DVLA only records the basic shade, so the exact code has to come from the car itself or from its build records.

Plates get repainted, labels fade and codes get reused across decades. If you want certainty, cross-check the code with your dealer before ordering paint.
